Grumble
You walk. A small grumpy monster grows up.
Grumble turns your daily steps into a creature called Mosskip — who complains about exercise, refuses to be impressed, and slowly grows into something larger anyway. It reads your step count from Apple Health and gets on with it.
Coming soon to iOS. Grumble isn't on the App Store yet. When it is, this page will have a link.
What it does
- Grows with your stepsMosskip hatches from an egg and evolves through stages as you walk. No streaks to protect, no guilt if you stop.
- Talks backA running commentary that is grumpy, slightly goofy, and never scolds you for having a quiet day.
- Live sessionsStart a walk and watch it tick along on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
- A weekly look backA short report on the week you actually had, rather than the one you meant to have.
- Log anythingRuns, sessions at the gym, whatever else. Not everything worth doing shows up as steps.
- Stays on your phoneNo account, no sign-up, no analytics. Your health data never leaves the device.
Grumble Pro
Grumble is free, and stays useful for free. Later monster stages are unlocked by Grumble Pro — a one-time purchase of $10.99 USD. Not a subscription. It does not renew, and it will not charge you again.
This is the early access offer for version 1. How Grumble is sold to new users may change later — the price, or the one-time purchase itself. What cannot change is a purchase already made: everything included in Pro at the time you bought it stays yours, permanently and at no further cost. That commitment is written into the Terms, not just implied here.
Privacy, briefly
Grumble reads two things from Apple Health — step count, and walking & running distance — and nothing else. Not heart rate, not workouts, not location. Access is read-only, and the data is never transmitted anywhere.
The only information that ever leaves your phone is what's needed to process a purchase. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.
